The “Youth Pan
Program”
is an after-school and Summer enrichment opportunity for students in
the Baltimore Metro area. It costs nothing to students and teaches them
the
history and fundamental techniques of playing steeldrum instruments. At
the conclusion, students receive a certificate of completion.
Exceptional students are invited to perform at the Harbor
View Festival, a BECI Inc. sponsored community-based event
held annually on the 2nd weekend of July at Reedbird Park in Cherry
Hill.
Registration for
students wishing to participate in the program occurs quarterly and is
open to any child between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age. A registration form can be

Students participating
in the "Youth Pan Program" are additionally afforded an opportunity to
join the
Harbor Knights Steel Orchestra,
the resident steelband of BECI
Inc. The group performs locally, regionally and upon request
helping to promote the various endeavors undertaken by BECI Inc.
